FUSED GLASS FISH LIGHTS
FACT SHEET

Each one of the glassfish and fish lights are hand made one at a time by Utah glass artist Kerry Transtrum.  Each basic fish shape is first cut by hand and then two shapes are layered on top of each other.  Crushed and powdered colored glass is then applied to the surface of the glass blanks in a blending technique to obtain the gentle shift from one color to the next. Pre-formed handmade accents and a metal-coated glass (Dichroic) are then added as highlights. The entire piece is then placed in a kiln and fired at 1500 degrees to bring out the beauty of the art glass.  Once cooled to room temperature the glassfish is then place on a mold and once again fired in a kiln to give it the desired shape.  Each fish is fired in the kiln for a total of 24 hours.

Because of the unique and unusual process used to create these works of art no two are alike. The fish lights are 12” x 30” long and a hefty 3/8” thick.  All lights come complete with art glass, UL listed metal mounting bracket (either plug-in or hardwire type) and light bulbs. They can be hung either vertically or horizontally to complement the decor in any home or office.  Please include $35.00 per piece for packing, shipping and insurance and allow three weeks for delivery.
